Career Development
Become a Lifeguard with the RLSS UK’s National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
We run regular NPLQ courses at Egham Orbit
If you are interested, please ensure you are at least 16 years of age and have the following competencies before you book the course:
- Jump/dive into deep water
- Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
- Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
- Tread water for 30 seconds
- Surface dive to the floor of the pool
- Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design permits
Volunteering Opportunities
Egham Constellations (previously RDS) is a transport group founded in 2016 with the purpose of assisting the disabled people of Runnymede to exercise in an accessible pool. They are a very friendly bunch of people who operate as a social group of members and associate members (volunteers), who work together to ensure the smooth-running of the sessions. Constellations are at Egham Orbit every Tuesday.
