Swimming is a fantastic way to stay active, no matter your age or skill level, we offer a range of lane swimming at various speeds.
Egham Orbit’s Swim School offers lessons for all ages and abilities, from our parent and baby class, junior lessons and adult lessons.
For swimmers aged 50+ & suitable for all abilities & levels. Lanes of various speeds are available.
Run by Egham Constellations, a transport group founded in 2016 with the purpose of assisting the disabled people of Runnymede.

As a member of Egham Orbit you can enjoy to our 25 metre swimming pool,
Make a splash at Egham Orbit with our range of aquatic activities to suit all ages!
Our 25m eight lane pool operates with a movable floor which allows the pool depth to be changed to suit each activity. There is a large poolside spectator seating area for swimming lessons as well as a viewing area from the Cafe
- We recommend all sessions are booked in advance to guarantee your space. More information on how to book each activity can be found below.
- Please check in at Reception or swipe through the turnstiles before the session starts to record your visit.
- You can arrive up to 20 minutes before your session start time (with the exception of 6am sessions as the building opens for 6am).
- The changing village will be available for before & after your swim, with social distancing and cleaning protocols in place for your safety.
- Please bring a pound coin or padlock for a locker.
- Please ensure you use the showers before entering the pool to ensure we keep our pool environment as clean as possible.
Swimming Lessons
Egham Orbit Swimming School is affiliated with Swim England and the aim of our programme is to help children to become safe swimmers, whilst gaining the tools and skills necessary to enjoy all forms of water-based activities. We also offer Adult & Baby lessons to introduce your little ones to the water.
Swimming Lessons in Runnymede for Children & Adults:
- We deliver the Swim England award scheme which offers swimmers the chance to work towards attaining badges and certificates.
- View available lessons and sign up online.
- Monitor your child’s progress and stay up-to-date using the CoursePro Home Portal.
Lane Swimming
All lane swimming sessions should be booked in advance. You can book online, via the Achieve Lifestyle App, or by calling 01784 333111.
Customers are welcome to arrive at any time during the booked session. Please download the Achieve Lifestyle App or see our pool timetable here to check our lane swimming operating times.
Additional Guidance:
- Suitable for competent swimmers aged 8 or above.
- It is important to remember that people of different standards and abilities will be using the pool at the same time, so please respect everyone’s right to enjoy their swim.
- When entering the pool, please select the correct lane for your ability and choose an appropriate stroke.
- Please follow the directional signage and when stopping for a rest or catching your breath, please keep to the edge of the lane to allow swimmers to turn in the middle.
Walking Lane
- This lane is in the shallow side of the pool.
- Designed for low impact water walking or exercises.
- Perfect for individuals looking to improve mobility and engage in light exercise.
- Or enjoy a walk with a friend in the water.
Junior Splash / Toddler Splash / Fun Swim
We have a variety of swimming sessions available for the whole family, including Toddler Splash, Junior Splash and Fun Swim.

Fun Swim Sessions
General & Fun Swim sessions:
Our General & Fun Swim sessions are unstructured open swim sessions, with mats and floats for all to enjoy in our main 25m pool.
This session is best suited to adults and children who are confident in the water.
Please be aware of our Safe Supervision Requirements;
- Up to 2 children aged between 5 years – 7 years must be accompanied by at least one adult (aged 16+) in the water.
- Over 8s may swim without adult supervision in the main pool provided they are competent swimmers and can swim at least 25m unassisted
- You can bring your own fun pool toys for the kids enjoyment
- Snorkels or face coverings are not permitted.
- Prices are per person.
- Pool Depth for the session is 1.2m
- Usual Main Pool Temperature is 28-29 degrees
Please ensure that when booking your session that an Adult & a Toddler ticket is purchased.
All participants in the water must have purchased a valid ticket for the session booked.

Toddler Splash Sessions
NO TODDLER SPLASH CURRENTLY RUNNING DUE TO A MECHANICAL FAULT WITH THE SMALL POOL FLOOR – SESSIONS SHOULD START BACK FROM 22ND JUNE 23
Toddler Splash:
These sessions take place in our small teaching pool, in a warmer and smaller pool environment, and are best suited to young children under 5 with an accompanying adult.
Children 5 years+ are encouraged to use the Fun Swim Sessions in the main pool, due to the Toddler Splash session being suited to babies and toddlers.
Children aged 5 and over are not permitted.
The Splash Pad which has a fun play area for children building up their water confidence is also available for those taking part in a Toddler splash session.
Please be aware of our Safe Supervision Requirements;
- Every child Under 5 years – must be accompanied by at least one adult (aged 16+) in the water.
- Pool Depth for the session is 0.9m
- Usual Small Pool Temperature is 30-31 degrees

Stay Active Swim Sessions
These sessions are for swimmers aged 50 and over & suitable for all abilities & levels Lanes of various speeds are available. It is a great way to stay active and keep fit.

Accessible Swimming
Egham Orbit offers disabled facilities including accessible changing rooms and a pool hoist.
Egham Constellations (previously Runnymede Disabled Swimmers) are a transport group founded in 2016 with the purpose of assisting the disabled people of Runnymede to exercise in an accessible pool. Members are able to swim or exercise in a less weight-bearing environment.
Egham Constellations run their sessions on Tuesdays at Egham Orbit 11.30am-1.30pm – available to Egham Constellation members only.
